Web Application Developer

Educational Web Services is looking for a student Web Application Developer who wants to hone their skills while enhancing sites and applications for both on and off-campus clients. As part of our commercial operations, you will work on designing, developing, and maintaining both small and large scale web applications, manage client requests, and assist in improving workflows and technologies.

What We Are Looking For:

  • Experience with common web development tools
  • Knowledge of HTML, CSS, ASP (VBScript), PHP, JavaScript
  • Excellent grammar, spelling, & comm. skills

Bonus Desired Experience:

  • XHTML, SQL, JAVA, .NET, Version control systems, Drupal API, iOS, Android

Sample Duties:

  • Develop new web applications for commercial operations
  • Implement CMS for existing web properties
  • Assist in daily client management
  • Provide input on operations infrastructure
  • Start to End Project development
  • Use analytics for existing sites to develop application improvements
  • Research and prototype new tools for web and mobile platforms
  • Assist with database development projects

Graphic/Media Designer

Want to see your designs shine on an 8'x8' screen? Educational Web Services is looking for a student Graphic/Media Designer to create stunning digital media designs for Cal Poly's growing Digital Signage Network. As part of our commercial operations, you will work on creating high impact graphic and video content, manage client requests, and assist in defining new workflows and processes.

What We Are Looking For:

  • Knowledge of: Typography, Color Theory, Illustration, Layout, Storyboarding, Animation, Video Editing
  • Experience with: FinalCut, Soundtrack, Quicktime, Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign, After Effects.
  • Excellent grammar, spelling, & comm. Skills
  • Good workflow experience

Sample Duties:

  • Photography
  • Videography
  • Produce graphic ad's for digital signage and web applications
  • Produce 10-30 sec video ad's for digital signage
  • Produce graphic media for mobile applications
